4Dryer fuse  Aug 16, 2010 By Bruce Paladino
I could have spent $15 locally for the same part; the one I received was FPS, which is Whirlpool's replacement parts company. The part had the same numbers on it as the old part.
Stuck it on, and everything is fine. No muss, no fuss, and saved myself $10.
By the way, the drawing on the website is incorrect; the tabs are straight (like my old part), not bent at 90 degrees like the drawing.

5Saves money  Jan 19, 2009 By C. Sakamoto "Hoplow"
My Whirlpool gas dryer was running but not heating. I did some research on the net and found out that this is the most common culprit.

Following instructions the instructions I printed I quickly located the thermal fuse. Tested it with my ohm meter (you can get a decent ohm/volt/amp meter with instructions for about [...], perfect for around the house) and found it defective. Ordered the new part and installed it. Put the dryer back together and started it up.

Success, it breathes fire again and I saved myself a bundle of money. I called a few places and was quoted between $[...] bucks just to come out. Who knows if they would have found other problems that didn't really exist.

5Did the trick  May 17, 2011 By B. Wild
Wife came to me and said the dryer wouldn't turn on. You could hear an electronic click, but no movement on our electric dryer. After doing some research, figured this was the culprit. It arrived earlier than expected (I think a business day earlier, which was a Friday, so that was nice). This was the best price that I found. Easy to install, and fixed the problem.

52nd time is a charm; but that's not the seller's fault  May 11, 2012 By Michael A. Myers
The non-re settable thermal fuse blew, I cleaned the drier, the vent pipe, and replaced the thermal fuse. When the replacement non-re settable fuse blew I replaced the thermostat which resolved the problem - I do believe a faulty thermostat blew the first replacement thermal fuse. The thermal fuse arrived when expected, was reasonably well packaged for shipping, matched the original, installed easily, and has worked perfectly since installation - what more can you ask for.

5This is a GREAT deal  Feb 14, 2012 By Michael L. Mckinney "skybird564"
These little fuses are over $12.00 in the few storefronts that actually carry them. I ordered and they came ahead of time. The fuse is a snap to replace - if you can fit behind the dryer!!
