This magnifier works well. My husband has low vision problems, and he uses it for reading restaurant menus. He likes it because it fits well in his pocket, and has a cover on it so it doesn't get scratched.

This is a good item. small and yet powerful. Can cause distortion on reading info on cans. But for those really small nutritional information on packets. Nothing can hide from us now!

Padded storage case is nice but its magnification power is nowhere near the stated 8X. Not that one usually needs a real 8X in pocket magnifier. It's a bit tricky to check the exact magnification of a given lens or compare against other lenses because of their different focusing distances. However, I have another pocket magnifier with the same focal length and comparable magnification power as SE 8X. The stated magnification power of this other lens is just 2.5X.
Also, I personally prefer slightly larger (and more common) 2" diameter lens rather than 1.5".

Just bought this little thing and it's super. Soft padded case; not a bit bulky, and clear, strong magnification. So glad to have it, and I'd recommend to anyone, especially those who need a little help for eyesight that used to be better than it is now.
