Best filter you can buy Oct 06, 2011
By V. Ivanov
"tech savvy"
I am a mechanical engineer, very informed about all car and bike's maintenance and repairs. Belong to many biker's forums and constantly read a lot of information about bike maintenance... Confident I have way beyond average knowledge for these things. Most bikers agree this brand(Pure One) is the best filter money can buy, fortunately very good priced too. Meaning- the built quality, materials used, level of cleaning of oil impurities/particles... are the best. If you want to try another brands for some reason, the next better filters are- Mobile 1, Bosch, Super Tech(Walmart)- in this order, all made from Champion. Do yourself a favor and NEVER buy ANY motorcycle brand filter(like Honda, Kawasaki...etc.)- they are very bad quality, in terms materials used and cleaning performance... Just think about it- you want to use a product from a specialized manufacturer, who knows how to make great things and their existence depends on their main product. Like Honda- they have Great cars and bikes, but NOT oils and filters... If you by chance need info for motorcycle oils too- try Shell Rotella T6 Full synthetic 5W-40 (blue bottle), sells in Walmart too for $24/gal. It seems to be the best proven oil for sport bikes, without friction decreasing additives, which can cause a clutch slipping in bikes with wet clutch. If need even more info, here is a link of one very informative site:<...> Ride safe!

great filter, great price! May 08, 2011
By Albert I've been using Purolator Pure Ones since they were that blue-ish purple color many years ago and never had a problem w/ their filters fit, finish, filtration, or engine problems. These are highly rated on a lot of car enthusiast forums and I'm sure many of you have seen the filter cut out/internals websites that also say these are good filters. I used the PL14459's on my mid 90's Acura/Honda's and used the Purolator Pure Ones w/ every oil change (5-7.5k w/ full synthetic motor oil) for several hundred thousand miles on these cars w/o any problems on these cars. Now I have 2 never Acura/Honda's that use the PL14610 and I'm still using Purolator Pure One filters. Great product, the anti slip coating is nice, but I liked the blue/purple color of the previous design better/more aesthetically pleasing, anti drain back valves, no cardboard internal drain back valves like some competitors, and cheaper than buying locally at my local pep boys + tax and wasting time to drive there and back. Great price, does the job, can't go wrong. The only other filters I use are STP, Bosch, K&N, Mobil 1 when I get those oil change specials that are packaged w/ an oil filter, and Mahle/Mann's for my bmw M3 since Purolator doesn't make a pure one for the cartridge style vehicles, otherwise I'd use purolator pure ones in it also. Also use the Purolator Pure One PL10241 in a Toyota/Lexus and it works great! Great product, I've been using Purolator Pure Ones for the last decade or so. I've probably bought and used 20-30 of these among different cars in my lifetime, never had a problem. Purolator Pure One is Pure #1!!!

High quality oil filter @ a reasonable price Nov 06, 2010
By Michael Williams I decided to purchase a few Puolator PureONE oil filters for my Mitsubishi Outlander and compare them against Mitsubishi OEM dealer filters, as well as OEM filters made by Flow and NPN. Truthfully, there appears to be very little difference in build quality between the Mitsubishi filters and those manufactured by Flow and NPN.
The Purolator PureONE filters are a different story. The quality of the filter medium appears to be better, with a tighter, more even distribution of the pleats. Construction of the filter, particularly the safety relief valve also seems to be improved.
In the future, I know the decision will be an easy one. Purolator PureOne filters for my car and motorcycle.

solid looking filter Feb 18, 2012
By B. Johnson I recently installed my first Purolator PureOne on a 2011 Honda Ridgeline; it appears to be working as expected. The one I received had some grip control (yellow textured paint) overspray around the gasket. It was easy enough to remove, but Purolator should make QC adjustments to avoid potential filter contamination. I went with the PureOne based on recommendations from a vehicle owner's forum. Time will tell if the extra cost provides superior protection.
P.S. The Amazon "will this fit your vehicle" feature (now) incorrectly indicates the PL14610 does not fit my vehicle. A quick check at the Purolator website reflects the correct applicability. I suggest you double-check this and other automotive items at the manufacturer's website prior to making a purchase.

Great product and price May 23, 2011
By VicK I read review where a guy bought few mayor brands of oil filters then took them apart to see what they were made of, this was a clear winner. It has steel caps and other high quality materials compared to cardboard caps used in Fram filters, no contest, free shipping, great price from Amazon and a rebate from Purolator, thanks.
