heavy duty power punch Mar 31, 2009

Having gone through SEVERAL leather punches in the last few weeks, I have finally found something that will get the job done. This is without a doubt the most powerful and easiest to use punch I have ever encountered. It's also built like a tank. I've only punched leather with it, but it goes through leather like a hot knife through butter. It does not make as clean a hole as a hollow tube punch, but it is so much easier to make a hole, one can kinda overlook the little bit of roughness on the leather. The only other hassle is changing bits and dies. It just takes more time, but unless you're in a real rush, it's still worth every second it takes to make the changes. It has a depth stop that makes it really convenient for punching successive holes, as in sewing leather. The item is made in Taiwan, but I would still highly recommend it to anyone who wants a REAL punch that requires little effort to use. And last, but not least, is the ridiculously low price of the item. Seems it should cost 2 or 3 times as much.

Very good hole punch for sheet metal Jun 19, 2010

I'm using this for jewelry-making, so I was leaning towards a smaller hand-held punch. But the jewelry-making punches are size-specific, so after you've bought 3 sizes, you've essentially paid for this multi-size one. I was concerned it would be too heavy for detailed work, but it does a great job! It is easy to operate, and I can get great precision. Even on the edge of bottlecaps! Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I wish it included an additional smaller size die.

The Perfect Solution Dec 12, 2008
By Steven Goodman I was looking for a tool with a lot of strength and one that would take little leverage to use. This Heavy Duty Power Punch Kit was definitely the answer. I was able to punch a hole through heavy, thick nylon strap, the kind that dog collars are made of. Prior to using this punch I was only separating nylon fibers but not actually making a hole. The only draw back was changing the punch itself. Just a little cumbersome, but you eventually get the hang of it.

Using this Punch Kit Apr 22, 2006
By Jeffrey Thomas There is a 2 inches mentioned in the material for this Punch Kit. This measurement is a little optomistic, the punch will only reach in 1 3/4 inch form the side of a panel. Other than the reach problem, the punch works well and seems very good value for money.

Superb buy, one of the best tool for the money I've ever bought. Oct 09, 2011
By Arky This is an excellent tool, especially considering it only cost $30.
I bought this to rivet the ridge trim on my metal roof.
It it rated for 14 ga. mile steel(about .078" thick); well I haven't tried it on that thickness yet, but with the 1/8" punch, I had no problem punching through 3 layers of 26 ga.(total of about .056" thick).
The flat metal 'screwdriver' for adjusting the throat reach is a joke; it bends like butter. Why it is included is a mystery. Just throw it away and use a screwdriver.
Other than that, this tool is an outstanding value. Very stoutly made and easy to use.
It's made in Taiwan and considering the flood of cheap, low quality China junk, this is a refreshing buy.
You will not be disappointed.
