5Power tools are so nice - they should have made this long ago  Jul 22, 2010 By HMMWV "God, Country, Corps"
If you have questions not answered here and would like a copy of the owners manual in pdf form, email me (see my profile)

NOTE: this grease gun uses normal full size (14.5 oz) cartridges of grease, not the mini 3 oz cartridges which are very expensive for the small amount of grease you actually get delivered after priming the system, which can take 1 oz all by itself. Also 14.5 oz standard cartridges are easy to find at auto parts stores, while the mini 3 oz will generally come in a kit of 5 locking you into their brand of grease. The selection available in 14.5 oz from marine to cheap grease to synthetic grease (see below). The 14.5 oz standard cartridge is what you want on your gun since it far exceeds the selection in 3oz size.

I can't say how many times I've had to contort myself into awkward positions to get to universal joint zerks (and the worst are on the steering collumn) only to have the head pop off when I got the leverage to squeeze in mobile 1 synthetic (red) grease using a manual grease gun's lever. If I had owned this product then, wipe ups would have been far fewer!

Finally a product that does it with the press of a swtich, and at a price I don't mind, not to mention it comes in a custom fit case with 2 batteries. At this price you can't go wrong.

Priming is simplified, the 30" hose is a delight, and 2 batteries plus charger for this kit price is an excellent deal to get 6500 psi (I run 10,000 lbs empty or 2500/tire, so a high pressure grease source is essential, as well as a synthetic lube)

Around the shop this has been helpful keeping the power gates serviced as well (same fitting, same lube). With one battery on charge and one in the tool you are never without power. A note about the battery charger - it is NOT like a dewalt system where you drop the battery in and it charges it. You must press the set button which seems to invoke a timer (red light) - later it changes to green light. Unless you hit set, the charger does not do anything more than a trickle, so be sure to hit SET when putting a dead battery in it.

Altogether a well thought out system delivered in a self contained plastic protective case with secure slides to hold the halves together. The quality is way more than what I expected for the price considering the next unit up is 3 times the price of this unit. By using a DC motor to spin a circular disc connected to the grease piston, the torque of the motor is converted into hydraulic pressure on the piston. All parts are well made and show evidence of a final factory test before shipment - a nice touch these days.

6500 psi is more than enough, so I don't mind the 12V batteries despite being an 18v dewalt person. In fact, not having 18V batteries gets me into tighter spots and I carry less weight while still getting the job done. The motor is well built. Although you can't change the brushes on it, for the price, I don't expect it. I'm considering the value of the product. In greasing a 1000 lb gate, the grease pressure lifted the gate vertically 1/4" when injected into the hinge.

The only piece that would make it more complete is a universal pivot on the head for those 270 degree bends. I have to move the vehicle 16 inches to get to the other half of my zerks. I'll just have to reach or rotate until I buy a replacement head. I would recommend this as an accessory for the unit. Although priced low, there were substantial ($15) shipping charges and tax, but the final cost was still a hundred dollars cheaper than the next unit from amazon - a considerable savings!

If you want your surfaces to last longer, consider using the synthetic mobil lube (RED color)

Mobil MOBILITH SHC100 Synthetic Bearing Grease

It does for lube jobs what mobil 1 does for engine oil.

2Good customer service  Apr 11, 2012 By DD
Gun I ordered didn't work. Emailed jacks and they refunded my money the next day. I messed with the gun and it turned out the plunger on the tube wasn't working. Bought a 15$ one at harbor freight and out the tube on the. Neiko and now it's working just fine.

1garbage  Jan 26, 2012 By mark white
This is garbage. Do not buy it. Tried to save money, didn't work. I had to buy a Lincoln anyways. Cost me more money.

5Job made easier!  Dec 30, 2011 By SassaFrasGranny
My husband does some small easier vehicle maintenance on the tractor-trailer he drives. This cordless grease gun makes the job a breeze.

1Does not pump grease. What is it for then?  Jul 07, 2011 By Jeff
This tool is not usable. The pump suction feed fails whenever you try to use it. I am using synthetic bearing grease and it will not pump it. I think it was designed for use with melted butter maybe? The grease fitting on the end of the hose will not fit standard zerk fittings. I replaced it with one from my manual pump in order to test this thing. The bleeder valve is actually a suction breaker. If you do get the grease pumping under no pressure situation (through an open zerk) it will stop when you push the bleeder valve. I replaced the bleeder valve with a plug to insure it was not opening during the test. I would never buy this product again and I am surprised it is still on the market.
