Kirkland Signature Minoxidil Extra Strength Hair Regrowth Treatment is for men who have a general thinning of hair on top of the scalp. We all know it takes time to regrow hair. However, with this Kirkland Minoxidil Extra Strength for Men, results may occur at 2 months with twice daily usage. For some men, it may take at least 4 months for results to be seen. Continued use is necessary or Hair Loss will begin again. If you do not see hair regrowth in 4 months, stop use. In studies with 5% Minoxidil Extra Strength Topical Solution for Men, hair regrowth has not been shown to last longer than 48 weeks of continuous treatment in large clinical studies. The amount of hair regrowth is different for each person.

4Works...with costs.  Jun 21, 2008 By N. Schmitz "Extreme Nerd"
Kirkland Minoxidil, so far, has been working for me. I am 28 years old, and before using this product had a large bald spot on the top of my head, and a lot of thinning in the front. I am almost at the two month mark, and have had a decent amount of hair regrowth. Both on the crown of my head (bald spot), and the front area. The product suggests that you should not use it in the front, but let's face it, that's what more people will be looking at when they are looking at your face. Anyway, the hair isn't as long and thick as the rest of my hair, but it has begun filling in those balding areas despite. They say it takes a good solid couple months to see the full effect, and I had to stop using it for almost a week when I forgot to pack it on a vacation. I imagine if I had, the hair would be thicker, and my bald areas would be even more filled in. This progress comes at a cost though. The product is a great value compared to Rogaine, especially when they basically are the same things and offer the same type of potential for hair regrowth. But still, plan on buying it continually, because if you stop applying it the reqgrown hair will fall out after a few weeks. Another cost is the commitment to daily routine. It has to be applied in the morning and before bed. By the way, the product is a clear liquid that you basically drip onto your bald area and massage it into the scalp. Sometimes it makes your head itchy. But a third kind of negative point...you need to give it a good hour to dry. In the first hour or so after you apply it, your head will be kinda nappy...by that I mean sort of stiff and sticky. That has been my experience so far...hope it helps.

5well, so far so good  Oct 30, 2007 By C. Samuels "hbomb27"
I've been using it for 10 weeks now and I am definitely seeing some new thin hairs in the hairline! I got this product because i read a reviewer say he saw new growth in his hairline and i thought what the heck. It's begun to do the same for me . . . a great price so you don't lose much if it doesn't work . . . I've read up on Minoxidil a lot and i know it takes about 6-8 months to see real change but the early signs all point to a positive result.

I have reordered already.

Recommended.

4Hair Loss Sucks  Apr 06, 2007 By Chris McFaren "Chris"
I am a 21 year old male and there is definitely hair loss in my family. I didn't think I would lose hair as early as I was (around 20). I figure it was due to stress because I'm currently attending college and I wasn't ready for it. Anyways after I started using this product I saw immediate results within weeks. There definitely some side affects though that you all should be aware about. Within a week of using this product I started having trouble sleeping but it wasn't that bad. I also started to get color change in my hair which I wasn't expecting. I also feel at times that I am more tired than usual (not entirely sure if its the product or just me). My hair was turning lighter and almost seemed like it was thinning also. The worst part of it all though is the product dries out your scalp a lot and you start getting dandruff which I've never had before trying this product. My advice to you is get this product if your having hair trouble but definitely don't overuse it because you will start doubting the product. Anyways, hope this helps!

PS: Try to use small doses and only do it once in the morning after you get out of the shower or else your scalp will get very dry and itchy all day. Also try to apply the product only around the areas you need it. I will keep using this product, but not as much that the box directs you to apply.

5Glad I Tried It...  Jan 22, 2009 By APB "Runch Maximus"
So I'm in my mid-20s, and the hair on the front half of my scalp has been slowly thinning for a couple years now. It was getting to the point where I was starting to be self-conscious about it, so I figured I would go ahead and give this stuff a shot.

I'm glad I did. Over the past 5 months, my hair really has noticeably thickened. I even have had people telling me they though I was dying my hair, but really it's just that it looks darker 'cause there's more of it.

Now, I used it on the front of my scalp, and the box clearly states that Minoxidil is only clinically proven to work on the back of your scalp, but what have you got to lose? It may or may not work for you, but it worked great for me, and I highly recommend it.

The price is right as well. Less than $30 for a 6 month supply is a great deal. And applying it isn't nearly the hassle you might imagine. If you're just getting started, you might encounter some slight itchiness of the scalp, or in my case, some serious dandruff. Do yourself a favor, stick with this stuff. Use a dandruff shampoo and scrub it into your scalp when you shower, and the dandruff will go away completely in less than a week.

Like I said, 5 months in, much thicker hair, no dandruff or scalp problems, I'm totally satisfied.

5Long Term User  Jun 03, 2009 By Donald J. Mackay
Ten years ago, I was surprised when my doctor told me I had the start of male pattern baldness. He recommended 5% Rogaine, but I purchased generic minoxidil because it was less than half the price.

With persistent application twice a day for ten years, I have managed to maintain a good stock of hair, altho bit thinner than I'd like. In fact, my hair is one of my most attractive features the ladies tell me.

I have only two minor complaints. One is the oiliness. The other is the tendency to turn light colored hair blond. I am 68 and my hair is largely grey. My hair was sandy when I was younger. The area where I apply the lotion is not my natural hair color, but a blond. But I live with these two minor defects and would recommend this product

Oiliness is more pronounced if you hair is very thin. If you have enough hair the application of minoxidil is partically concealed and you hair to helps absorb it into your scalp. However, if you wait until you are without hair, its application will be more noticeable, leading to the complaint about oiliness. Don't wait too long before starting treatment.
