ignore first review Feb 09, 2011
By Z. Yando for the gennius :) who wrote the first review, the metal tabs are for high-end skullgard hardhats, not for one of the twenty plastic hats you have. These ratchets work great and osha requires the suspension in every hard hat to be replaced every year.

FASTRACII Feb 21, 2011
By SERIO Skullgard hardhats are great, but after a long off-time, the metal clips on my suspension started to rust. Plus the cloth cross straps were looking rough from being left dirty for so long. This suspension was a perfect replacement for the one in my Skullgard full brim hat. Great!
Excellent piece Mar 30, 2011
By Autoworker This is an excellent suspension of the money. It is easily adjusted for size. If you are working outside in a hardhat area, the ratchet makes it easy to adjust for thermal headgear under the hat, and then back to normal size. I have a full brim hat that I've been wearing for years. It is still in good condition despite taking impacts almost on a daily basis. I work on machinery and am always climbing around in plumbing and structural sections of the machines. Also, many foundries require these types of hats because they don't melt as rapidly as the cheap plastic ones. A blob of molten iron might make a hole the hat, but it will give enough of a delay to throw your hat off and keep the hole in the hat and not in your head. The ratchet suspension will also hold on your head well if you are working in position where you are looking upside down.

Useless Nov 19, 2010
By Joe Vela I bought this because I wanted a ratchet suspension for my hard hat. It didn't fit any of 22 the hard hats I had. The metal tabs made no sense as to how they are supposed to be fastened. If you want ratchet suspension, buy a hard hat that comes iwth it already. Buying this after the fact business is useless.
