easy to install, works flawlessly Aug 01, 2009
By John Kenney I've been staying with some folks for a while and noticed that they manually emptied their dehumidfier daily. They've been doing it for 8 years!
I installed this pump in no time and they'll never have to empty it again!
This pump works great. Very basic, but it does the job nicely. It makes very little noise. Turns on / off smoothly and quietly. Pumps for a few seconds to clear out the basin and then goes back to rest until it fills again.
The pump does not come with either inbound or outbound tubing / hose, so you will need to buy them separately.
Also, I found the instructions a bit skimpy and less clear than they could have been. You just need to read it closely and do a bit of fiddling to get it to work properly.
As elsewhere mentioned in these reviews, a key thing is to ensure that the water / condensate source (i.e., the dehumidifier or AC unit) is higher than the Little Giant pump. This allows the water to flow easily 'downhill' into the Little Giant basin.
In my case, this required putting the dehumidifier about 8" up on a box, then fiddling with the hose to ensure it flowed cleaning downhill to the pump.

Exceeds Specs Jun 09, 2008
By J. Gardner I have this pump handling my furnace and AC condensation. It's pumping straight up 6 1/2 feet and then propelling the water another 15 feet through flexible tubing in the ceiling before it begins a downward descent through pvc pipe. No problems. It comes on almost every five minutes when the AC is on. So far this pump has been perfectly reliable.

Fast Delivery, Great Service, Excellent Product Mar 18, 2008

Excellent condensate removal pump for high-efficiency furnaces and other applications requiring constant water removal. This was bought as a replacement and performs better than the last pump. The company packaged this product with care and speed, and this arrived a day and a half after being ordered on Amazon with regular shipping. Brilliant all around!

Little Giant pump for dehumidifier Aug 08, 2008
By J. Szanto Works great. Simple and does what it is supposed to...Pumps water from drainhose in the dehumidifier. I was looking for a dehumidifier with a pump, but heard some bad reviews on the pumps breaking before the dehumidifier did.
This solved the problem of emptying the bucket.

Good Value for the money Jun 23, 2010

This was a replacement for an identical one installed with my new heat pump 4 years ago. From the get-go, the check valve on the original pump often leaked, allowing water to drain back into the reservoir and create short cycles.
The check valve on the replacement pump works very well and the barbed hose connector seems to work better than the old model. The barbed area has two plastic seams that can cause a poor seal when a vinyl hose is inserted over it. To make sure it doesn't leak, I slipped 3 small rubber washers over the outside of the hose where it connects to the pump to act as a hose clamp.
One thing that annoyed me is that the instructions contain nothing about how to clean the pump at the end of the A/C season (the inside tends to get all scuzzy, which can cause the check valve to fail). I called up the factory and they recommended running a strong vinegar solution through the pump to clean it. Seems to work reasonably well, as long as you pay attention to where all that vinegar is going after it's pumped outside...
