If you have an electrical device that can take 110v-240v input, this is a great device for your trip to India. It will allow you to plug almost any plug into an Indian socket. Many portable devices, but not all, come with 110v-240v input. Check your device carefully before you use this product. If your device only takes 110volt A/C, then you need a step down transformer.

Its very simple - plastic shell and some screws with metal to transfer electricity. It works great in India.
Only thing is this is a adaptor - which means it will not convert voltages so make sure your device can handle 240v (it will say on the device's plug 110v-240v)
I tried it with external hard drives, laptops, electric razors, electric toothbrushes, HDTV camcorders and cellphone chargers... as long as the device says 110v-240v you're good to go.

This is a very nice power plug adapter. Solid 3 pin contrction - Off white color. This will help you plug in any "US style" power cord in "Indian Style" wall outlet. This is one comes with 3rd prong for ground which is required for Laptop and higher wattage device. Please note this will not convert any voltage down so your charger needs to support dual voltage (110v ~ 240v @ 50z ~ 60 Hz). Most of the Laptop Chager (Dell, HP, Lenevo brand) now comes with that feature so for those all you need to carry only this. I have personaly cheked that Amazon Kindle, iPhone/iPad and Motorolla Droid/DroidX chargers will also work with this one perfectly.
For any gaming charger like DS / DSi may not support 240v so you must buy a dual voltage charger before using this adaptor in India to charge your device. Highly recommended for India Travel.

Nowadays, most electronic devices in the U.S., have a power requirement of 110-240v 50/60Hz. Either the 2-prong or the grounded 3-prong plugs will be present.
This adapter is very useful in India, where you can plug this into the wall outlet and plug in your device. The ground and the Fuse will provide you with additional protection.
I was in India recently and continuously used it for about two weeks with various electronic devices; the adapter stays put firmly in the wall outlet without any wobbling (this was the issue I had with other similar adapters designed for global usage).
NOTE: THIS IS NOT A VOLTAGE CONVERTER; check your device plug to make sure it supports multivoltage/frequency (110-240v 50/60Hz). (U.S. uses 120v/60Hz; India uses 240v/50Hz)
