Three years now and still impressive! Jun 26, 2007
By Rosemary Thornton

I seem to be drawn to houses that need lots and lots of yard work. These shears have been used a lot through the last few moves and are still good and sharp. Fiskars is a good name and it's my hope and expectation that these shears will last for a long, long time.
I've used them for branches that are probably a wee bit too big and with a little effort, they'll rise to the occasion and chop off more than they can really chew. They're supposed to have clog-free blades and heretofore, I've found this is true. Despite chomping away at great gobs of gooey wet grass, they've never become clogged.
The swiveling head is a nice feature, but after the clippers get a few miles on them, grit and dirt gets into the mechanism and it's not as easy to turn. From a practical standpoint, I rarely use that feature. Just haven't found a need for it.
When it comes to cutting implements, I'm utterly convinced that spending a little extra money is always money well spent. I own a few other Fiskars tools and am delighted with this brand.

shear pleasure Jul 29, 2007
By Katie B. Snell I'm very happy with these shears. I can't even say how many I've purchased shears in the past just to have them work ok the first few times then become completely useless. Already I've used the Fiskars Shear several times and they're actually fun to use since they DO get the job done. I'd highly recommend them to anyone looking for something reliable.

Broke in 3 Months Nov 07, 2007
By Michael -

It was working good like Fiskars products usually do, and then the right blade broke where the connecting post fits in. It did this just trimming the edge of my grass where my lawnmower misses.
My conclusion is that this should not have happened except for a manufacting defect in the metal or how it was assembled. A previous review states theirs has been working great for over 3 years. Well, sorry to mess up this products 5 star rating; but the truth is Fiskars needs better quality control for this product.

Something must have went wrong May 31, 2009
By Tim After reading through the reviews for this product I can only assume that something went wrong at the factory when my shears were made. I have a brand new pair of these Fiskars grass shears and they don't cut grass. The blades appear to be very sharp, but also very loose. I can only assume poor quality control at the factory. There is little or no engagement of the blades and when I attempt to cut grass the cutting blades separate and do little more than bend the grass. I always look for the fiskars name when purchasing cutting instruments for the garden, and I am very disappointed in this product.

Works good except for the blood blisters! May 28, 2009

You best wear gloves with these as they tend to pinch your palm as your cutting. Other than that, they stay sharp for a very long time and cut very well.
