5Steep Price but Invaluable for the Serious "Journal-er"  Aug 26, 2009 By Josh Boone
It must first be noted that this item costs a hefty dollar. I was searching for a wonderful journal that would last me for a while and this one immediately caught my eye, but the steep price of it nearly made me forget it. If you will not take writing in this journal seriously and you do not frequent the journal often, it must be observed that such an expenditure will no doubt be a major waste of money. Regardless, if you are dutiful in recording your day-to-day activities and reflections, this journal is something well woth the price. Producers of products such as this journal tend to embellish the descriptions of the product with fanciful adjectives, but all of the assertions made of this journal are true. The journal is shipped and arrives in a box within a box, thus greatly reducing any possibility of damage during ground delivery. It also comes with a nice cloth that you can put the journal in so as to conveniently take it places without worrying about damaging it. Lastly, the journal has a very authentic leather smell to it. The pages are thick but not too thick, and the most impressive thing of all: the spine is very conducive to wherever you might be writing in the book so you do not have to worry about awkward writing positions.

5Epica 5-star and beyond!  May 07, 2011 By Fletcheezy "Fletcheezy"
After searching high and low, and reading review after review, for a book that would meet my needs, I am elated to say that this was it! Granted, it seems expensive, but it actually works out to approximately 28 cents a page...only 5 cents more than baby wipes on sale (when you have young children and you're on a budget, you know these things). The quality of both the leather cover and the paper are superb. It is about four or five inches thick, and arrives wrapped in paper in a box within the shipping box. If you are serious about the purpose of the journal, and want something that will last for generations, then this is most certainly worth the investment. Additionally, if you order it directly from the Epica website as I did, you can add embossing and a few other options. My journal is embossed with gold script and has a dedication page. To say that this is a five-star product is an understatement.

4A True Lifetime Journal for Generations!  Feb 24, 2012 By Michael N
This is the second Epica journal that I've owned and must say the quality continues to be top-notch. I was a little worried prior to purchase that with such thickness this journal would be very difficult to write in and that over time it may not hold up. Both of those fears have been put to rest. This journal will last generations. The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars was because of the price. All of Epica's items are very expensive relative to other leather journals out there. However, in all fairness there really aren't any leather journals on the market that compare to Epica's quality or look. I personally would have liked to be given the option of having lined pages rather than only blank pages. The pages are thick and in a cream color. The inside cover lining and first page is actually a forrest green. A nice green fabric page marker is built in for convenience. The leather itself looks great and appears slightly aged for that antique look and I actually had mine imprinted, for an additional cost, which came out beautifully. Buyers also have the option of having a personalized inscription "label" on the inside cover page. This is a bit expensive and I'd recommend doing it yourself later with your own card stock, paper and non-acid glue. When this tomb arrived I was initially in awe at its enormous thickness! I know Epica touts this as the "World's thickest Italian journal" but nothing prepares you for when it's actually in your hands. Bottom line is that if you are a serious journal writer and want something that will last many, many decades then this journal is by far the best deal on the market.

3too pricey for the quality...  Apr 01, 2010 By A. Soraya "Ann Soraya"
i am looking a thick, nice, big diary to write. Im glad i could find this journal which i could not find anything else with the requirement i need. and once i see this journal and got the price soooo high, i dont care i just purchased it and got it today, and yup, a little disappointed but after long search through many book store and online shop, this is the best i can get. the paper quality inside are good and very nice looking, the leather cover looks fine but cheap, im sure its not real leather, because the custom in japan would ask me to pay for leather quarantine... over all, this journal will make my day today. i hope the bundler will last longer than i thought. because this is really thick!!! and i dont see the good finishing from the manufacturer... maybe i must pay extra attention to have this journal forever... its expensive!!!
