If you want a racket that zaps bugs, this is the one to get. I've tried 4 different models, AA and D battery types and this one is the one that works the best! Turns gnats into (very) temporary fireflies. Blows the wings off of flies. Roasts yellow jackets. Makes an impressive "ZAP"! They don't get away. The only complaint is that if the bug is too big, they start smoking and make an awful stink if you keep the button down (especially those big moths). I have to fight my kids to use it, so if you can, get more than one!
Update 8-20-09 Apparently Amazon discontinued the zapper I wrote the above review on and put my review to a different model. Look for the 3000 volt D cell model if you can. That's the one I'm referring to.

I looked over all the reviews of the various "bug zappers" listed on Amazon and went with this one, though it only had two reviews.
I have to say that this zapper exceeded my expectations! Kills on contact, even the flies (gnats) that never seem to land anywhere. Love the midair kills!
I sold the first one to someone (at triple the price I paid) that had to have it and immediately bought another one. GREAT PRODUCT at a GREAT PRICE!!!!

we use these down in Port-au-Prince where bugs are everywhere. When you swing and hear some "popping" sounds, you just know you got a kill! Only drawback is when there are no more bugs to swat at! Asides that, this is well constructed and prevents you from being after-shocked if your fingers touch the outside wires. Makes a great gift since I haven't seen them in any store!

Ordered the product, it didn't work at all when I received it. I had to pay $5.00 to send it back to the company (which increases the cost of the product 50%). Got no response, no refund or replacement. I am very disappointed.

I was so excited to get my zappers in the mail after getting eaten by black flies all summer. I get the package and BOTH of the zappers did not work. I contacted GammaDiscount and they said I would have to send them back ($9.95 for USPS shipping) for them to determine if they were defective. So they finally reimbursed me the amount for the zappers but NOT for the shipping. So basically I got ripped off and had to pay $9.95 for this entire wonderful experience. Oh yeah and I find out in their disclaimer that they are not responsible for reimbursing the shipping costs for the buyer to send it back. They couldn't even respond to my two emails. Thanks GammaDiscount, you are a horrible seller.
